SL Kyuroku-kan Notable Steam Locomotives on Display!
At the SL Kyuuroku Museum in Mashiko City, Tochigi Prefecture, there are many steam and diesel locomotives on display, but among them, the 9600 series steam locomotive No. 49671 and the D51 series steam locomotive No. 146 are particularly noteworthy. The 9600 series was one of the last steam locomotives manufactured by the Japanese National Railways and was active in Hokkaido from 1920 to 1976. The No. 49671 locomotive on display at the SL Kyuuroku Museum is one of the last steam locomotives operated by the national railway and is highly valued for its historical significance. On the other hand, the D51 series was a general-purpose steam locomotive operated by the national railway from 1938 to 1976, and the No. 146 locomotive on display at the SL Kyuuroku Museum is known as one of the most famous steam locomotives in Japan!

At the SL Kyurokukan, various events are held throughout the year. Among them, the events that deserve special attention are the "SL Festa" and "Summer Festa". The SL Festa is held once a year, and you can experience riding on a rail star, connecting the Kyurok conductor car, and renting children's stationmaster and engineer uniforms in the area around the SL Kyurokukan.
