Accessible Resort Area in Hakone
Gora Onsen is a popular hot spring resort that can be reached in about 2 to 2.5 hours from the city center. It is centered around Gora Station, the last stop on the Hakone Tozan Railway, and can be reached in about 35 minutes from Hakone Yumoto Station on the same railway or about 20 minutes by car. Unlike the bustling area around Hakone Yumoto Station, Gora Onsen has many luxury ryokans and resort facilities. Some accommodations offer private shuttle buses from the station to the hotel, so be sure to check with your accommodation.
