Oarai's 60m symbol tower with a view of the whole town
This symbol tower boasts a height of 60 meters above ground, covered entirely in half-mirrors, allowing for a panoramic view of Oarai. From the observation deck, you can see mountains such as Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tsukuba, as well as urban areas such as Mito and Hitachi. On the second floor, you can enjoy the holy land at a cafe themed after the anime "Girls & Panzer"!

The Oarai Marine Tower stands at a height of 60m, and from the top floor observation deck, you can enjoy a superb view of the Pacific Ocean, Oarai Beach, the cityscape of Oarai, and even Mt. Fuji in the distance. As the ferry port for Tomakomai is located next door, you may be able to see a ferry docked depending on the time. One of the attractions is the beautiful evening and night views, so it's recommended to visit again at a different time when you come to visit!

On the second floor of Marine Tower, there is an anime company-approved holy land, Girls und Panzer Cafe. The walls are adorned with a huge picture of a tank being washed, and models of tanks and shells are displayed. As the characters in Girls und Panzer are high school girls, school desks and chairs are used as tables in the cafe. Why not enjoy dishes such as Kajika Cutlet Curry or Anzio Food Stall's Iron Plate Napolitan while gazing out the window at the Pacific Ocean?

Free Market "Aozora-ichi"

The Free Market event, also known as "Aozora-ichi," is held on the first and third Sundays of every month, except for January and August. It's a lively event with many vendors and visitors, and it may be a chance to get what you want, such as clothes, toys, and antiques, at a low price! In addition, there are food stalls and locally grown produce for sale, so if you're interested, be sure to visit in conjunction with a visit to the Marine Tower.

At Oarai Seaside Station, located right near Oarai Marine Tower, you can enjoy shopping and dining. On the second floor, there is a Girls und Panzer gallery, and with it being an anime holy site, there are many unique shops. At Oarai Maiwai Market, you can purchase Oarai seafood and local vegetables. On the second floor, there are tonkatsu restaurants, seafood restaurants, original hamburger shops, and more. Why not try them out for a meal?

The Oarai Anglerfish Festival is a two-day event held in winter at the Oarai Marine Tower front lawn, featuring the famous Oarai anglerfish as its main attraction. In addition to the main event, which includes hanging and cutting the anglerfish, there are various other events such as comedy stages, talk shows, and unique plans for each day, including the sale of anglerfish soup for 100 yen per serving. If you've never tried Ibaraki's famous anglerfish, be sure to visit and enjoy its deliciousness!

The Symbol Tower with a View of Oarai!
The Symbol Tower is a full-face half-mirror tower where you can overlook Oarai! From the observation room at a height of 60m, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Oarai's cityscape, coastline, and the Pacific Ocean. On the second floor, there is a cafe called "Cafe Garupan," which is officially recognized by the anime company of "Girls und Panzer." You can enjoy menu items such as Sanders Burger, Kajiki Dock, Kajiki Katsu Curry, and the Antioch stall's iron plate spaghetti. On the first and third Sundays of every month, a flea market called "Free Market Blue Sky City" is held, attracting many visitors. When visiting Oarai for sightseeing, why not take a leisurely look at the panoramic view from the Oarai Marine Tower?
