The Sukagawa Castle Ruins Park in Hitachi City is a fortification built during the end of the shogunate to defend against foreign ships. This location, built by Tokugawa Nariaki out of caution, is still a designated historical site in Ibaraki Prefecture that conveys its history. The main castle stone walls have been partially restored, and terraced plains remain, allowing you to reminisce about the past while gazing at the Pacific Ocean. It's also possible to enjoy both nature and history at once at the entrance to the Takasuzu hiking course!
