I came for a relaxing resort weekend at the beach and mostly stayed in the room and onsen between long meals.
I loved sitting in the onsen in the rain, sitting and enjoying the view, and the friendly staff. I disliked the cost/value ratio, lack of resort activities and amenities, very limited ramen access times, and limited shuttle trips (finished by 1640 picking up from Tateyama Station). I highly recommend calling before your stay.
The staff were extremely friendly. This is not a resort however; it is a hotel with karaoke, onsen, and an attached restaurant. Beach access requires crossing a highway, walking along it for 15min, and has a small area of black sand surrounded by seawalls and both sides. The view is nice, but there is camping visible directly in-front and to the left, which feels less special. The pool is only open during summer.
Breakfast and dinner are included. I'm guessing they are about half the cost of the stay. There was honestly too much food and, as a non-Japanese-speaking foreigner, it was unclear what was coming and when. Great care was taken in preparing the meals and the food was beautiful. The restaurant staff were pleasant and seemed to enjoy their work and talking with people. They made the experience better. There are options for westerners but you must ask.
