Michinari-ji Temple in Hidakagawa-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, is a national treasure-designated Tendai sect temple with a history of over 1,300 years. It houses valuable Buddhist statues such as the Thousand-Armed Kannon Bodhisattva and the Sun and Moon Bodhisattvas, and in particular, the wooden statue of the south-facing main deity, the Thousand-Armed Kannon, made around the 9th century, is designated as a national treasure. The garden is also beautiful, allowing visitors to enjoy the nature of the four seasons. In addition, cherry blossoms such as Edohigan-zakura and Shidarezakura are also known as famous spots.
