This is a paddy field that is a symbol of the Aridagawa River and has been selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 Terraced Rice Fields". Unlike ordinary rice paddies, it has a unique shape. You can see the beautiful Aragi Island in any season, with a water mirror in spring, a green carpet in summer, golden rice in autumn, and a snowy landscape in winter.

Arakishima was designated as an important cultural landscape by the national government in 2013 and chosen as one of Japan's top 100 terraced rice fields. This scenic spot is a beautiful landscape created by nature and can be said to be the symbol of Aridagawa Town. The changing scenery throughout the four seasons is attractive and has a unique atmosphere that cannot be expressed in photos. Arakishima is located on the opposite bank of the Aridagawa River and has an observation deck. From the observation deck, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent beauty of the terraced rice fields and the natural formations, which is sure to impress. Especially in the autumn season when the rice plants bear fruit, the golden terraced rice fields spread out, creating a magnificent landscape. Access

Access by Car or Public Transportation
If you're traveling by car, it takes about 50 minutes to reach Aragi Island from the Arita IC or Arita Minami IC. There is a parking lot at the observation deck on the opposite bank, about 800 meters from the roadside station "Aragi no Sato". If you're using public transportation, it takes about 55 minutes by bus from JR Fudanami Station. However, please note that there are only about one and a half buses per hour. The bus stop "Mita Mae" is about a 3-minute walk away.
