The former Chikurin-in in Otsu City boasts a garden of approximately 3,300 square meters designated as a national scenic spot. In spring, the garden is adorned with fresh greenery and cherry blossoms, while in summer, visitors can enjoy the cool waterfall and tsukiyama (artificial hill). In autumn, the garden is ablaze with fall foliage, and in winter, it is transformed into a snowy wonderland. There is also a tea house with traditional Japanese umbrellas where visitors can enjoy the scenery. The admission fee is reasonable and cheaper than visiting the former imperial villa Omuro or Rurikoin in Kyoto. It's a perfect place to create happy memories.
