Toshogu Shrine, known as the Nikko of Kansai, enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Enryaku-ji Temple is a Tendai Buddhist temple located on Mount Hiei, overlooking Kyoto. It was founded in 788 by Saicho, the temple's first chief abbot. The temple complex is divided into three sections: Todo, Saito, and Yokawa. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture and its role in the spread of Buddhism in Japan.

Access while enjoying the beautiful and abundant nature
There are two main ways to access Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine in Shiga Prefecture while enjoying the beautiful and abundant nature: public transportation and car. If using public transportation, the nearest station is Sakamoto Biwako Hamaotsu Station on the Keihan Ishiyama Sakamoto Line. From Sanjo Keihan Station, transfer to the Tozai Subway Line and Otsu Line, then transfer to the Ishiyama Sakamoto Line towards Sakamoto Hieizanguchi Station, and head towards the final station, Sakamoto Hieizanguchi Station on the Keihan Ishiyama Sakamoto Line. It takes about 40 minutes from Sanjo Keihan Station. If using a car, take the Biwako West Vertical Road, Nishi-Otsu Bypass, and Route 161 from the Kyoto area, which takes about 35 minutes. However, the required time may vary depending on the traffic conditions. Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine is located at the foot of Mt. Hiei and on the beautiful Lake Biwa, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Shiga Prefecture throughout the entire access route!
