Oyakeiji, located in Nagahama City, is a historical pilgrimage site that has been attracting believers since the Heian period. It is also known as the place where Minamoto no Yoritomo took refuge. This area, which reached the height of Tendai Buddhism, was once destroyed by fire, but has since been rebuilt. Despite being a small temple, it owns many temple treasures, and the remains of the main hall, sutra hall, and the Ekachichijou site still remain. The view from the mountaintop is breathtakingly beautiful. Don't miss the mossy garden and the old log staircase leading to the shrine!
