Access

Get off at Kintetsu Express Yoshino Station
If using public transportation, take the Kintetsu Express. Take the Kintetsu Express to Kashiharajingu-mae Station, then transfer to the Kintetsu Express Yoshino Line bound for Yoshino. It takes about 40 minutes from Kashiharajingu-mae Station to Yoshino Station. If going by car, there are two routes: one where you get off at the "Katsuragi IC" on the Minami-Hannan Expressway, and another where you get off at the "Kashiwara IC" on the Nishi-Meihan Expressway. After that, proceed on National Route 169.

Parking

Use Nearby Parking Lots, Such as Shimonobono Parking Lot
There is no dedicated parking lot at Kongōbu-ji Temple. However, there is a parking lot for tourists who come to see the cherry blossoms in Yoshino nearby, which you can use. Shimonobono Parking Lot is about a 1 km walk from Kongōbu-ji Temple. During the cherry blossom season, it is a paid parking lot (1500 yen), but it is free to park there at other times, so please use this parking lot if you are going by car. During the cherry blossom season, it can get very crowded, so you may have to use parking lots further away from Kongōbu-ji Temple, such as Chūjibon Parking Lot.

Sightseeing

Annual Exhibition Held for Major Repairs
Since 2012, Kimpusen-ji Temple has held an annual exhibition of its three main statues, the Kongōsattva, as part of a major repair fundraising effort. Even after the ten-year period ended in 2023, the exhibitions continue to be held. The timing of the exhibitions varies from year to year, so please check the official Kimpusen-ji Temple website. It's rare to have the opportunity to see the miraculous main statues of Kimpusen-ji Temple with your own eyes. Why not visit Kimpusen-ji Temple during the exhibition period?
