Yanagidani Kannon, Yangidani Temple

At Yanagidani Kannon, or Yangyu-ji Temple, a miraculous statue of the Eleven-Faced Thousand-Armed Kannon Bodhisattva is enshrined as the main deity. This Kannon statue, also known as the Jigen Daikannon, is characterized by its beautiful posture and expression. At Yanagidani Kannon, every 17th of the month, there is a workshop for making pressed flower stamps. In this workshop, you can choose your own pressed flowers and stick them onto a stamp book to create your own original stamp. There is also a wide variety of pressed flowers available, allowing you to use different flowers depending on the season. At Yanagidani Kannon Yangi Temple, historical Buddhist temples and buildings stand in a row. Many historical Buddhist temples and buildings remain on the grounds, making it a charming place to immerse yourself in historical atmosphere. For example, the main hall, which is said to have been built in the early Edo period, and the inner sanctuary, which is said to have the benefits of child-rearing and safety, are not only historical buildings but also known as power spots. Yanagidani Kannon Yojoji Temple is a scenic temple where you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons. Admire the seasonal views, such as the vibrant hydrangeas during the "Hydrangea Week" or the colorful autumn leaves. If you have extra time during your visit, it's recommended to stop by the Jodo Garden, which has been designated as a scenic spot in Kyoto, to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

At Yanagidani Kannon Yojuji Temple, there is a temple office where you can purchase various amulets. These unique items include the Gankiryoku amulet, which is said to bring good fortune to your eyesight, the Airyokukoh, which is believed to bring good relationships, and tea that is said to be effective against eye diseases, all of which are associated with the blessings of the main statue of Kannon. Despite being a highly respected temple, there are also items available for souvenirs, so please stop by and take a look.
