This botanical park was created to provide a rich environment with plenty of greenery. It features facilities such as a greenhouse and a flower garden, and is attractive for the opportunity to experience plants throughout the four seasons. Uji Botanical Park is famous for its cherry blossoms in spring. In particular, the weeping cherry tree, which is about 70 years old, is a symbolic presence and is illuminated during the peak viewing season. From March 21 to 31, 2023, the weeping cherry tree will be open to the public for free at night. It will be held from 17:30 to 20:00 on weekdays and until 21:00 on Fridays, weekends, and holidays. You can enjoy the fantastic night cherry blossoms. Why not enjoy the spring cherry blossom light-up with your family and friends?

Uji City Botanical Park is a spot where you can enjoy the flowers of the four seasons. In spring, cherry blossoms and double cherry blossoms are in full bloom. In summer, wisteria and azaleas bloom beautifully. In autumn, the park is decorated with colorful autumn leaves and cosmos flowers. In winter, you can see beautiful views of yellow sanbidaria, red hibiscus, and hydrangeas in bloom. The entrance fee is relatively reasonable, with adults at 500 yen and elementary and junior high school students at 250 yen.

The Flower and Water Tapestry at Uji Plant Park is a large-scale three-dimensional flower bed boasting the largest size in Japan. The view of over 3,000 planters arranged on a large hina-dan (tiered platform) measuring 62 meters in width and 18 meters in height is breathtaking. The types of flowers and patterns depicted on the entire flower bed vary depending on the season, making it a great attraction of the Flower and Water Tapestry to enjoy different views every time you visit.

Arrive by Train and Bus
Uji City Botanical Park is a nature-rich park in Uji City that can be reached by transferring from a train to a bus. Get off at Kintetsu Kyoto Line's "Okubo Station" and then take the Kyoto Keihan Bus 240 or 240A to "Keihan Uji" or "JR Obaku Station." Get off at the "Botanical Garden Mae" bus stop and you'll be just a one-minute walk away from the botanical park. For those who visit by car, please use the paid parking lot inside the park.
