Discover the Charm of Amanohashidate's History

Amanohashidate is located in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture and its name means "bridge to heaven". Its history is ancient and closely related to ancient myths and legends. According to legend, it's said that when the grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu, Susanoo-no-Mikoto, descended from heaven, he landed at this spot. Amanohashidate is a sandbar approximately 3.6km long and 20m to 170m wide, with about 5,000 pine trees planted on it. The shape of the sandbar is said to resemble a dragon ascending to heaven, as its ends curve. Its beauty has earned it a place as one of Japan's three most scenic views, and it has been loved by many literati, appearing in numerous poems and paintings. Additionally, this area has been a place of worship since ancient times, with Buddhist temples standing on both ends and a shrine at its center. 2024年10月の金曜日9時に行きました。車はビューランド前に駐車場があり、700円の前払いで1日駐車可能との事でした。まずは9時営業開始のリフトでビューランドの上に行き、股くぐりからの絶景を堪能しました。 9時5分前に並びましたが、1組並んでいるだけで朝イチでもあまり混まない様です。その後、ビューランドから徒歩で3分程度にある智恩寺にお参りして、天橋立を歩きましたが、2キロメートル以上あるので結構疲れます。自転車を貸し出しているので、徒歩がキツイ方は自転車をおすすめします。

日本三景と言われるだけあり､美しい｡遊歩道を左右に海が見える景色なんて滅多にないと思う｡松が名前が付けられていて、著名人の足跡もたくさんあります。往復５キロちょっとですが、歩いて散策するのをオススメします。パンフレットの砂浜の形状と少し変わっているのかな?

松並木を歩いて往復しました。自転車などで往復した方がいいと思いました。意外と長い。風はなく気温もちょうど良い感じでした。雲が多かったので写真的には残念ですが、綺麗な景色を楽しめました。
