Nijo Castle

Built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, this castle has watched over the changing history of Japan. This precious castle, where numerous cultural properties and national treasures can be seen, is also registered as a World Heritage Site. In particular, the gorgeous Kano school mural paintings in the national treasure Ninomaru Palace are captivating.
