Mt. Tsukiyama in Hagi City is a scenic spot that overlooks the sea and the castle from an altitude of 143m. Towering trees that have lived for over 600 years stand tall and have been designated as a natural monument by the government. At the summit, there are the ruins of the Tsumaru of Hagi Castle, which was used as the last stronghold during wartime and is known as the "natural fortress" due to its grandeur. This place is also associated with the castle's builder, Lord Terumoto Mori, and offers a panoramic view of Kikugahama Beach and the delta.
