It also has an exhibit of Shimane Prefecture's official fish, the "Tobiuo," which is considered rare nationwide. In addition, it underwent a renewal opening on March 16, 2023, introducing projection mapping in five locations within the facility, including a performance that recreates the sunset of the white-sided dolphin. Iwami Tatamigaura: A Scenic Spot Eroded by Waves!

Iwami Tatamigaura is a scenic spot located at the tip of a hill with an elevation of about 50 meters that juts out into the coastline. Tatamigaura is characterized by approximately 25 steep cliffs called "kaishoku" that have been eroded by waves, and about 49,000 strange rocks. It was named after the fact that it looks like tatami mats have been laid out. It is the only spot in the prefecture selected for the "Kaori Scenic 100 Selection" by the Ministry of the Environment and is also designated as a natural monument of the country. The terrain was formed by the uplift of the seabed, and there are strange rocks, kaishoku cliffs, and caves with the sea as a backdrop. The strata from about 16 million years ago contain many fossils such as whale bones and shells. When visiting the Arifuku Onsen, why not take a tour and search for and observe fossils such as shells and whale bones?

アクアスの帰りにちょうど良い立ち寄り湯です。レトロな建物と番台のおかみさんの優しい声掛けにホッとします。ツルスベの泉質と涼しい休憩スペースもありささっと寄ってもゆっくり疲れを取るのも便利だなと思いました。朝７時からやっているのも好感。若い方が地域おこしをしているのかな？温泉街の古い良さを残しつつ、オシャレさもありました。

温泉街の階段を上がったところにあるレトロな建物の公衆浴場です。アルカリ性単純温泉で源泉45.7度の高温泉です。とても雰囲気のある浴槽ですが何ぶん熱い！湯質はトロトロの美人湯で最高ですが長くは入っていられません。少し入っては出てを繰り返し堪能させて頂きました。館内はエアコンもよく効いていて2階の休憩室も広く湯上がりものんびりできました。

タイムスリップしたようなとても素敵なとこでした。温泉も無色透明匂いも無くすべすべになりました
