A beach that welcomes millions of gods and appears in mythology

This is the beach that appears in the myth of the transfer and drawing of the country. On the 10th of October in the old calendar, all the eight million gods from across the country are welcomed at Inasa no Hama. There is a small island called Bentenjima standing alone on the beach, where Toyotama-hime, the god of the sea, is enshrined. It is popular to take pictures together with the sunset.

The Kamimukae Road at Inasa Beach is a road prepared for the Kamimukae Shinto ritual, which welcomes millions of gods. This road is known as the path that the millions of gods who gathered at Inasa Beach on October 10th of the lunar calendar take to visit Izumo Taisha, where the great god Okuninushi is awaited. Along the way, there are places where you can see the large shimenawa rope displayed at the Kagura Hall and where it is said that Takemikazuchi, dispatched from Takamanohara, negotiated the transfer of the country. The Kamimukae Road is definitely a spot you'll want to visit when visiting Inasa Beach and Izumo Taisha!

At Inasa Beach, there is a rock called "Byobu-iwa" that is known as an important location in Japanese mythology. Byobu-iwa is said to be the place where the gods Okuninushi and Takemikazuchi discussed the transfer of power in the myth of the founding of Izumo. Additionally, the main hall of Izumo Taisha adopts the architectural style known as "Taisha-zukuri", one of the two major sources of Japanese shrine architecture along with the Shinmei-zukuri of Ise Jingu, and is characterized by a heart pillar with a diameter of over 1 meter. マイカーだと停めれる台数あるので注意してください。歩いていくのがベストかもしれませんが時期を考えて熱中症対策を。思ったよりも起伏あります。素敵な場所でいつまでも過ごせるエリアですね。

九月の三連休初日に出雲大社に行く前に行きました。10時前で満車でなかったのですぐ停められました。みなさんこの後出雲大社へ行かれる方が多いのでそこまで長居しないのか、回転はよさそうでした！駐車場は整備されていて停めやすかったです！

2023年11月追記護岸工事も終わり新しくモニュメントが出来てましたね😉 神在月の出雲大社は駐車場まで大渋滞してるのでこの駐車場から歩いて行く方が早いかも😅 特に１０時以降は早起きして参拝がオススメです😊 出雲大社参拝の前に行く無料の駐車場です。稲佐の浜で砂をビニール袋に入れ出雲大社の素鵞社に参拝後にお清めの砂と交換してお家に持って帰り庭に撒くか家の中の四隅に小瓶などに入れ置いておくと厄除けのご利益があるそうです😉 砂浜の砂は誰も踏んでいない物をガーデニングスコップ等ですくってください👌 2021年12月現在は護岸工事中なので仮説足場の階段で砂浜に行けます。
