Aizu and Kitakataとは
The Aizu and Kitakata area is not only home to historical tourist spots such as Tsuruga Castle (Wakamatsu Castle) and Sazae-do, but also has a rich variety of delicious local cuisine. Aizuwakamatsu, known for its long history of miso and soy sauce making, has a famous dish called "sauce katsu-don," and there are over 100 restaurants in the city that serve it. Kitakata City is the birthplace of Kitakata Ramen, and there are also over 100 ramen shops here, including famous ones that have long lines in the morning for "morning ramen."
