Shiozuka Kogen, also known as the Aso of Shikoku, is a highland that spans about 100 hectares in Tokushima and Ehime prefectures. At an altitude of 1,043 meters, Shiozuka Peak offers views of the Seto Inland Sea and the Chugoku region on clear days, and the highland is a great place to enjoy a starry sky at night and a magnificent sea of clouds in the early morning.

In addition, the campsite has a four-wheel buggy land, a grass-cutting slope, and a sky coaster-like slide, so both adults and children can have fun.

The "Kiri no Kogen" of Shiozuka Kogen is known as the mecca of paragliding, attracting paragliding enthusiasts from all over Shikoku and beyond. Every year from late March to early April, about 20 hectares out of the approximately 100 hectares of the Shiozuka Plateau are dynamically burned. This controlled burning is done to protect the landscape and preserve high-quality hay fertilizer, and local firefighters are on hand to prevent it from turning into a wildfire. Access

Recommended to Access by Car

As Shiozuka Kogen is located in the mountains, it is recommended to visit by car. It takes about 30 minutes by car from JR Awa-Kawaguchi Station (14 km), about 1 hour from Tokushima Expressway Ikawa-Ikeda IC (30 km), and about 30 minutes from Kochi Expressway Shingu IC (12 km). The surrounding area, including Prefectural Road 271, is narrow and there are some confusing roads, so please be careful and be sure to look for signs and guideboards!

Parking

Free Parking is Available

At Shiotsuka Plateau, free parking is available with space for around 30 cars. If you plan to use the Shiotsuka Plateau Campsite, one bungalow, two lodges, and two cottages can be parked. If you need to park more vehicles, they will be stored in the parking lot in front of the campsite management building, so you need to request it at check-in.
