Odori Park

At Odori Park, numerous benches and areas with grass where visitors and tourists can relax are provided. It's recommended to enjoy a picnic while surrounding the fountain, which can be said to be the symbol of the park, and feeling like you're on a picnic in the city. There are also plenty of take-out food and beverage shops in the area, so you can visit empty-handed. If you have young children, they can also enjoy playing in the fountain.

The "Sapporo TV Tower" is a classic tourist spot in Sapporo that stands at a height of 147.2 meters and is introduced in guidebooks without fail. It's also a popular facility to visit when coming to Odori Park. From the observation deck at a height of 90.3 meters, you can overlook Odori Park. During the day, of course, but if you visit at night, you can enjoy the illuminated scenery. There are also restaurants and souvenir shops in the facility, making it a recommended spot for dates.

When visiting Odori Park, you can't miss the "corn wagon". From late April to early October each year, a wagon appears in the park selling freshly baked or boiled corn. At Odori Park, the largest beer garden in Hokkaido is held during the summer. If you come to Sapporo in winter, one place you must visit is the "Sapporo Snow Festival" held at Odori Park. It takes place every year from early to mid-February and features various sizes of snow and ice sculptures that entertain visiting tourists. The snow sculptures, shining blue and white in the sunlight, are impressive, and the illuminated sculptures at night are even more powerful than during the day.
