This ancient shrine is said to have been founded by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro in 807. It is enveloped in a solemn atmosphere and is famous as one of the most powerful spots in Tohoku. It is said that if you throw the "Oyori paper" given at the shrine into the lake and it sinks, your wish will come true.
