Nikko Futarasan Shrine, which has been located in the center of Utsunomiya since ancient times.

The history of Utsunomiya Futarayama Shrine is very ancient, and it is said to have been founded during the reign of Emperor Nintoku, who is famous for the Osenko burial mound. Located in the center of Utsunomiya City, the city developed around this shrine. The shrine's iron-made guardian dogs are also designated as important cultural properties by the government.

Of note is the large torii gate of Futarayama Shrine, which is known for its enormous size of 9.7 meters in height, 13.8 meters in width, and 90 centimeters in diameter of its pillars. In spring, the cherry blossoms in the grounds are in full bloom, making it possible to visit the shrine while enjoying the cherry blossoms.
