Kusasenri-ga-hama

When people think of Kusasenri Beach, they often imagine a vast green landscape. However, the beach actually shows a different face depending on the season. From spring to summer, green spreads out as far as the eye can see, but in winter when snow falls, you can see a world covered in silver snow. Additionally, in early March every year, controlled burning is conducted to nurture the next generation of greenery, allowing you to see a completely black Kusasenri Beach. Why not first visit the beach during the green season from spring to summer, and then come back at a different time for a new experience?

If you want to make even more memories on your trip to Kusasenri Beach, we recommend trying horseback riding. At the Aso Kusasenri Horse Riding Club, there are three courses (A, B, and C) depending on the required time, and you can experience the shortest one in just five minutes. Riding on the back of a horse allows you to explore from a higher vantage point, so you might discover something you wouldn't normally see. Please note that the club is closed during the winter season, so it's recommended to visit between spring and autumn.

Located near the Kusasenri-ga-hama beach is the "Aso Volcano Museum". This museum allows you to learn about the formation of Aso, the grasslands of Aso, as well as rare animals and culture. Understanding what Aso mountain is and how it was formed may change the way you view and feel about the nature surrounding Aso mountain. There is also a gift shop where you can purchase original goods that can only be found here, making for a great souvenir from your trip.
