Saba no Heshiko

How about having it as a side dish for rice?

"Saba no Heshiko" is a dish made by salting and pickling mackerel in bran to preserve it for a long time. It is recommended to eat it not as it is because it is very salty, but to put it in ochazuke (rice with tea poured over it) or pasta, or to have it as a snack with alcohol.

Tsuruga, Obama, Wakasaとは

Tsuruga is known for its seafood. In the Japan Sea fishing town, many fresh seafood, including "aji no hama-yaki," are transported alive from the port, and you can enjoy "seiko-gani" and "zuwai-gani," the king of domestic crabs, among others. At sushi restaurants, you can enjoy rare ingredients such as "nodoguro" and "manbou," which are rarely eaten elsewhere, so be sure to visit at least once or you will regret it! Obama is also famous for its seafood as it is called a fisherman's town, but it actually has many cultural assets such as Tada-ji, one of the three major Yakushiji temples in Japan.
