Naruko Onsen, Kuriharaとは
Naruko Onsen, which is counted as one of the three famous hot springs in Oshu along with Iizaka Onsen in Fukushima Prefecture and Akiu Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture, is a hot spring resort with abundant hot water that allows you to experience various types of spring quality such as sulfur springs and barium springs. Why not enjoy a leisurely indoor bath tour using the "Yumeguri Ticket"? Alternatively, after enjoying climbing or autumn leaves on Mt. Kurikoma, it is also good to head to the hot springs to heal your fatigue. The symbol of the city, the kokeshi doll, is also famous, and it seems that you can encounter kokeshi dolls everywhere in the hot spring town!

Naruko Gorge
A large gorge with a depth of 100 meters
This beautiful large gorge, carved out by the Ohtani River, is covered in lush greenery in spring and summer, and attracts many tourists in autumn when it is enveloped in red and yellow autumn leaves. The best view can be seen from the observation deck at the Naruko Gorge Rest House! There is also the Oofukazawa Promenade a little further away, where you can enjoy a stroll while admiring the nature of each season.

Japan Kokeshi Museum
A museum exhibiting kokeshi dolls from various regions in Tohoku
The Japan Kokeshi Museum was established thanks to the donation of poet and children's author Kaname Shizawa's collection to the former Naruko town, as well as the dedication of kokeshi dolls offered to the Kokeshi Festival every year by kokeshi craftsmen from all over Japan since 1957. Visitors can not only admire kokeshi dolls from all over Japan, but also see the actual production process, such as woodworking and lacquer painting.
