ポイント 1

Enjoy a Stroll to the Cable Station on Koma Sando

Oyama Cable Car Enjoy a Stroll to the Cable Station on Koma Sando
From the Oyama Cable Bus Stop or parking lot, you can enjoy a stroll along Koma Sando to the Oyama Cable Station, where souvenir shops, restaurants, and the Oyama Koma Workshop are lined up. You can enjoy local specialties such as tofu dishes while taking a leisurely walk. Popular souvenirs include the traditional "Oyama Koma," which has been passed down since the Edo period, "Koma Senbei," which is shaped like a spinning top, and "Kyara Bukki." You can also find goods featuring "Kururin," the official character of Isehara City. There are 382 steps on the stairs along the path, and the number of landings is indicated on tiles designed with the famous "Oyama Koma." It takes about 15 minutes to walk along Koma Sando and reach the cable car station.
ポイント 2

Visit Daisenji Temple, a Must-See Destination During its Open Days

Oyama Cable Car Visit Daisenji Temple, a Must-See Destination During its Open Days
At Daisenji Temple, which is counted as one of the three major Fudos in the Kanto region, you can get off at Daisenji Station, the only station in the country's cable cars where there is a passing point and the boarding location changes between "up" and "down" every operation. The main statue of Fudo Myoo and the two boys statue are designated as important cultural properties of the country. In addition to the temple's events, the 8th, 18th, and 28th of every month are open days, so it's a spot you'll want to visit on those days. "Kawarake-nage," where you throw a small dish with a diameter of 6 centimeters that says "Yakuyoke" (warding off evil) written on it off a cliff to ward off bad luck, is said to not only be effective in warding off evil, but also bring good luck if you pass through the lucky ring under the cliff. It's an event that can be enjoyed by families and couples, so when you visit Daisenji Temple, it's definitely an event you'll want to experience.
ポイント 3

Breathtaking Views from Afuri Shrine's Lower Shrine

Oyama Cable Car Breathtaking Views from Afuri Shrine's Lower Shrine
The view from Afuri Shrine's lower shrine, which can be reached by getting off at the final stop, Afuri Shrine Station, has been featured with two stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. On clear days, you can see Enoshima and Miura Peninsulas, as well as the distant Boso Peninsula and Izu Oshima Island. The night view is particularly stunning, and night operations are conducted during the autumn foliage light-up period and the New Year's holiday season. One of the attractions of the Oyama Cable Car is that even in casual clothes, you can enjoy the breathtaking views from the mountain by using the cable car.
ポイント 4

Enjoy the Stunning Autumn Foliage Illumination

Oyama Cable Car Enjoy the Stunning Autumn Foliage Illumination
Every year during the autumn foliage season, the Daisho-in Temple and the lower shrine of the Mt. Daisen Afuri Shrine are illuminated. During this time, the cable car also extends its operating hours for night viewing, allowing you to enjoy the beautifully lit autumn foliage along with the night view. As many tourists visit and it can get crowded, it's recommended to leave early or visit on weekdays. Also, the autumn weather can be unpredictable and it can get chilly after sunset, so don't forget to prepare warm clothing.

Parking

Limited Spaces Available! Early Arrival Recommended
There are two municipal parking lots, but they tend to fill up quickly during peak times, so early arrival is recommended. The parking fee for the "Municipal 1st Parking Lot," located about 600 meters below the bus terminal, is 600 yen per day for regular cars and 1500 yen for large vehicles. The "Municipal 2nd Parking Lot," located just above the bus terminal and closest to the cable car's starting point, charges 1000 yen per day for regular cars and 200 yen for motorcycles. However, medium-sized or larger vehicles such as microbuses or tour buses cannot park at the 2nd parking lot. If the municipal parking lots are full, you will need to use the adjacent private parking lot.

A Spot where Nature, History, and Breathtaking Views Come Together
During the Edo period, this area became popular as a place for both leisure and religious activities, and came to be known as "Oyama Mairi". In 2016, it was registered as a Japanese heritage site. Popular spots in Oyama include the "Koma Sando" path, the Oyama Temple, and the Afuri Shrine, all of which can be reached by cable car. Adjacent to the Afuri Shrine's lower shrine is the "Saryo Sekison", a popular spot with a sophisticated Japanese-modern atmosphere where you can relax while enjoying the breathtaking views.
