Wakayama Castle was selected as one of "Japan's Famous Castles 100". It was once the residence of the Kishu Tokugawa family, one of the three Tokugawa families. Its appearance towering over Mt. Kofu reminds us of its former prosperity, and exudes the dignity befitting the name of the three families.
