Abukuma Cave

Inside the cave, which stretches for 600 meters, there is a succession of stalactites that are said to have the largest variety and number in the Orient, created by the dissolution of groundwater. Each stalactite has a name and captivates viewers. The varied stalactites, such as the "Tower of Monsters," "White Porcelain Waterfall," "Christmas Tree," and "Hoarfrost," truly give the impression of an 80 million-year history. "Takine Goten" is the largest hall in the Abukuma Cave, boasting the largest scale inside the cave. Here, you can see valuable stalactites up close, such as crystal curtains, cave corals, and cave shields. Various shapes of stalactites emerge in the lighting, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Especially, the film-like "crystal curtain" is very rare, and when light shines on it, the stalactites become transparent. Experience the mystery of nature in a large space about 30 meters high.

At the Dragon Palace, which stands at a height of approximately 13 meters, you can observe stalactites with unique shapes. On the slope of the Dragon Palace, there is a rock called the "mushroom rock," which looks like a mushroom cap when viewed from below. Additionally, right next to the Dragon Palace, there are "Christmas trees" and "frost-covered trees," which look as if they are covered in whipped cream. You will be sure to be moved by the beauty of the natural formations created by nature!

The "Moon World" is the last thing you'll see inside the cave. Using stage lighting that naturally changes color, they create a production from dawn to sunset. Among the changing light cycles, the stalactites beautifully stand out. You'll be moved by the production that's fitting for the last location. The main stalactites, as well as the romantic production of rimstone, stalagmites, and stone pillars, will liven up the end of your tour!

During the cave tour, there is a route called the "Adventure Course" where you can experience the thrill of an adventure. It branches off from the regular tour course and proceeds along an optional course of about 120 meters before rejoining at the waterfall palace. The Adventure Course is full of excitement, with narrow passages to crawl through and log bridges to cross. The tremendous sound of water also adds to the sense of adventure. If you want a thrilling experience, try the optional course and feel like an explorer!
