Ichino Taki is said to be 133 meters high, 13 meters wide at the Choshi-guchi, and 10 meters deep at the waterfall basin, with about one ton of water falling every second. Upstream from Ichino Taki, there are waterfalls called Nino Taki and Sanno Taki, and these three waterfalls have been designated as national scenic spots. Furthermore, downstream, there is a waterfall called Fudokyo no Taki, which is named after the monk Bun'aku who trained in this area. Many waka poems and other literature have been written about this beautiful landscape, and many people, including the poet Saigyo and the haiku poet Takahama Kyoshi, have been inspired by its beauty.
