Highlights

Point 1

Mesmerized by Giant Objects Made of Cotton

Towel Museum Mesmerized by Giant Objects Made of Cotton
The Towel Art Museum allows entry to the gallery from the fourth floor, but before the entrance to the gallery, there is a passage called "COTTON ROAD" where many giant food objects made of cotton are displayed. There are many objects that make you want to eat them, such as fluffy shortcake, hamburgers, and popcorn, so you'll be excited even before entering the gallery.
Point 2

Tour the Process of Making Imabari Towels

Towel Museum Tour the Process of Making Imabari Towels
The gallery entrance fee is 800 yen for adults, 600 yen for middle and high school students, and 400 yen for elementary school students. Upon payment of the entrance fee, you will receive a souvenir towel handkerchief and can enter the gallery. Inside the gallery, you can see the process of how cotton becomes a towel, and you'll be amazed by the detailed work required. It's quite moving to think that these towels have gone through this entire process before reaching our hands.
Point 3

Aim for Instagram-worthy Photos at the Photo Spot

Towel Museum Aim for Instagram-worthy Photos at the Photo Spot
At the end of the gallery, there is a colorful and cute photo spot called the "Cheese-wound Thread Wall," where you can take Instagram-worthy photos. By the way, "cheese-wound" refers to the cylindrical shape of the thread. The cheese-wound thread used in towel manufacturing comes in about 200 colors, and there are reportedly 1,800 of them arranged on this wall. When you consider that these various colors are combined to make towels, it seems that there is still infinite potential for towels.
Point 4

Enjoy a Colorful Shopping Area

Towel Museum Enjoy a Colorful Shopping Area
On the 3rd and 4th floors, there is a shopping area with a wide range of towel products, from original brand items to towels from famous brands. There is also a great outlet corner, so it may be a good idea to buy in bulk for everyday use. Additionally, on the 3rd floor, there is a "Towel Workshop" where you can have your name embroidered on a towel! It's perfect for gifts for friends and loved ones.
Point 5

Take a Break at a Stylish Cafe After Sightseeing or Shopping

Towel Museum Take a Break at a Stylish Cafe After Sightseeing or Shopping
Within the Towel Museum, there are two cafes. The "Museum Cafe" is open from morning and offers meals from breakfast to afternoon tea, where you can enjoy a meal with France's carefully selected tea. The other, "Garden Cafe," allows you to eat light meals while enjoying the lush European garden. The chairs are covered with colorful covers made of towel fabric, making it the perfect place to rest your tired feet after sightseeing.
Point 6

Take a Deep Breath on a Colorful Garden Stroll

Towel Museum Take a Deep Breath on a Colorful Garden Stroll
Outside of the Towel Museum, there is a European garden that spans about 10,000 tsubo, where colorful plants grow. Not only flowers, but also fruits such as cherry blossoms, plums, lemons, and blueberries ripen according to the season, making it enjoyable all year round. In the garden, garden weddings are limited to one per day, making it a wonderful memory for couples who love nature to have their ceremony here.

Access

Towel Museum Access by Car or Taxi Recommended
Access by Car or Taxi Recommended
As the Towel Museum is a bit difficult to access by public transportation, it's recommended to visit by car or taxi. From Shikoku, it's a 13-minute drive from the Iyo Tanbara IC, and if coming via the Shimanami Kaido, it's a 20-minute drive from the Imabari IC. If you want to visit in combination with Dogo Onsen, it's a one-hour drive from there. Free parking is also available. For those without a car, you can take a taxi from the JR Mibu-gawa Station, which is a stop for the limited express, and arrive in about 13 minutes.
