Tourist Information of This Area
general.prefecture.
Kasamatsu Mountain, which has marked numerous historical events.
Kasamatsu-yama in the Seto Inland Sea National Park is a mountain that can be considered the symbol of Asakura Village. At the summit, which is located at an altitude of 357 meters (according to triangulation, the altitude is 328 meters), there is a Kannon-do temple. In the middle of the Heian period, it became the retirement castle of Uketsu Tayu Kono Tameyo, and then became the residence of the Okashi family, their descendants, for generations. It is a historic mountain that became a stage for battles until the Muromachi period, passing through the Northern and Southern Courts. In addition, there are many group tombs around the climbing path of Nonose at the southern foot of Kasamatsu-yama, which has become a popular walking course for many people.
