Koryuji is a temple of the Shingon Mikkyo sect founded by the decree of Prince Shotoku in the 5th year of Empress Suiko's reign (597 AD). During the Middle Ages, it was worshipped as a prayer site for the Murakami pirates. せとうち七福神参りの最後のお寺、布袋尊が祀られています。住職さんが感じのいい方でお話しをしました。また、副住職さんの奥さんが手作りでお守りを作っていました。ぽっくり結び観音さまがありました。

平成の大修理落慶法要の際に伺いました。様々な催しが行われ、たくさんの人が集まっていました。 4月下旬だったので、庭の牡丹が見ごろですてきでした。大島准四国霊場三十三番札所。せとうち七福神めぐりのひとつでもあり、本堂の前に布袋像が置かれています。聖徳太子の命で開山、建立させた寺が元になっているという、歴史あるお寺です。
