Noshappu Cape

Cape Nosappu is known as one of the most beautiful capes in Japan. The sight of the sunset sinking into the sea is very romantic and popular among couples. In the summer, you can see a cute show of spotted seals, and in the winter, you can also see Humboldt penguins walking around inside the aquarium.

Adjacent to the Noshappu Cold Current Aquarium and affectionately known as "Wakkarium," the Wakkanai City Youth Museum is located in Wakkanai City. The planetarium inside is the oldest in Hokkaido, and the observatory and laboratory are fully equipped, allowing you to learn about the wonders of science while having fun. In addition, many materials related to Antarctic observation, which is deeply connected to Wakkanai City, are on display. There are also models of the icebreakers "Soya," "Fuji," and "Shirase," as well as related materials on dog sleds that were actually used in Antarctic observation.
